48th FEBS congress | Published on 04 July 2024
Our PhD students have participated at the 48th FEBS congress 2024 in Milan. The FEBS Congress is a broad-spectrum and ground-breaking scientific program, completed in a fruitful collaboration with the journals of FEBS and representatives from FEBS Constituent Societies.
The focus on human health and well-being, through molecular and cellular science approaches, reflects a key social issue and a specific commitment of SIB and the whole biochemical community in a time of ongoing global transitions. Besides important research topics following the latest and emerging developments in the biochemical sciences, the Congress activities will include dedicated education-oriented sessions, symposia organized by young biochemists, and biochemistry-related economic discussions.
Few of our PhD students and postdocs presented their data at the congress:
- Mariacristina Franzese Canonico, a PhD student from Eleonora Candi / Artem Smirnov group, shared her work on the role of p63 in bladder cancer;
- Ilaria Arciero, a PhD student from Sonia Melino group had a poster on development of 3D printable cell array for the in vitro modelling of breast cancer;
- Silvia Buonvino, a postdoc from Sonia Melino group, showed her recent on data BPLH, a waste-based biomaterial from Lupinus albus, and the use of sustainable scaffolds in wound healing and bone tissue repair.
