Benedetta Imperiali, a PhD student from Prof Agostini group, and Alessia Violante, a PhD student from Prof Candi group, have participated at the ECDO conference 2024 “Cell Death at Crossroads of Neurodegeneration and cancer” in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg (9-10 Oct 2024).
The 30th European Cell Death Organization (ECDO) Conference was focused on the theme “Cell Death at the Crossroads of Neurodegeneration and Cancer”, offering a comprehensive scientific programme with a broad basic and clinical focus. The agenda covered diverse aspects of cell death, putting a special emphasis on addressing molecular mechanisms of apoptosis, necroptosis and autophagy and exploring its implications in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Additionally, it focused on the metabolic control of cell death, delve into fundamental aspects of cell death in cancer and highlight related clinical applications. Lastly, the event addressed the complex relationship between cell death and inflammation.
